When the first season became so much successful and popular among spectators the producers launch the second season very soon. Second season of "Murder, She Wrote" was released on September 29, 1985. This season had 22 episodes and round about 21.73 million people watched this series.

"Window, Weep for me" was the first Murder She Wrote Episode of the second season and Jessica met an agent in Caribbean. His name was Michael Haggerty and he was M16 Agent. She went to Caribbean to investigate a murder.

"Joshua Peabody Died Here...Possibly" is the second episode of the second season and in this episode the construction of the hotel was ceased in Cabot Cave when the workers found a skeleton at the site. When Jessica and the Sheriff went to investigate at the location of construction they found another dead person.

Third episode "Murder in the Afternoon" gathers around Jessica because she took the responsibility to find the murderer of her niece's boss and also to save her niece by resolving her problems regarding murder oh her boss.

Jessica was awarded an honorary degree by a university in the fourth episode named as "School for Scandal".

"Sing a song of Murder" the fifth episode; Jessica was informed that her cousin was killed but when she went to London, she found her cousin alive only thing happened with her cousin was that he was threatened by someone.

"Reflections of Mind" is the sixth episode and it was quite horrific because a friend of Jessica told her that her husband's ghost visit her on regular basis. And Jessica was too much shocked when her friend's husband was murdered. After that she tried her level best to help out her friend.

Seventh episode named as "A lady in the Lake" Jessica saw a woman falling in the lake. Everyone blamed that the husband of the lady killed her but Jessica didn't accept this.

In the remaining episodes of second season, Poison pen letters were spread in Cabot Cave to kill people in the result owner of a horse died and Jessica's niece used to ride his horse. In this season many people were assassinated including some good friends of Jessica. Even a student of Jessica was arrested for a murder but the jury wasn't able to decide either to sentence the murderer or to leave him only because of unavailability of witnesses.
